Is there a trick that can help me with "tsu" & "su"? They sound exactly the same in "my ear" :p Please advise. Thanks so much! Jessica

In the Hiragana lesson, I noticed the character り (ri) is drawn differently in the photo vs. the font in the pop-up bubble. Are both ways of writing it acceptable?

@nate9000, Yes! Great question. Just like in English, there are lots of different writing styles and fonts in Japanese. In this case, both ways of writing り are acceptable.

@Barbieroi, Good question. You can think of "tsu" (つ) as sounding like "two" with an s thrown-in (tswo). "Su" (す) sounds like "soup" without the P on the end. Hope this helps! Sometimes it can be hard to distinguish with native speakers. Hope this helps!
