could you guys include the japanese word spelled out with the english alphabet. ... i think the phonetics would help me "hear" the word better.

@markefrank, try clicking on the '+' button. You'll should see an options menu show up. Just check the romaji box and you should be good to go! Hope this helps.

This is great! I'm learning and memorizing vocab faster than I did reading on my own!

Thanks so much! This has helped me an incredible amount. I'm able to get the japanese vocabulary in both japanese and english lettering, while getting the correct pronunciation as I look at a picture of the object/action. This is fantastic, thank you for making it.

340, 420, 1980 is that $3.40, $4.20 and $19.80?

Reply

Ichigo said:

@ggsoulsister, Nope. i think 340, 420, 1980 is 340.0, 420.0, and 1980.0.

Jamie said:

@ggsoulsister, Yea... @Ichigo is right. Because it's in Yen, not USD.

@ggsoulsister ichigo and jamie. Arent you all correct? isnt Y100 1$. so a Y340 drink is $3.40...... i think

@Besanii and @ggsoulsister: You are both correct. If you are converting Yen into USD, then 100Y is very close to $1.00USD. If ever in doubt, you can go to xe(dot)com/ucc and covert it there.

Sorry, I meant to say "convert" it there...not covert.

it will be much easier to understand if the japanese words have an equivalent american alphabet meaning. the accent is kind of difficult to understand for beginners like me.

Reply

kevin said:

@ddianco, by clicking on the "+" button located at the top left corner of any photo you can select romaji and have that appear on each tag as well. Hope this helps!

Mr. Kevin, got it, thank you!

@Ichigo,320.0, 420.0 and 1980.0, seem like Three hundred and twenty dollars, four hundred twenty dollars and one thousand, nine hundred 80 dollars in Yen! But what is that in american dollars and what is it over there, I still don't understand.

Reply

ggsoulsister said:

@Besanii, Okay I got it now that makes sence. 320yen is 3.20 here (usd?). 320.0 = 3 hundred 20 dollars, you couldn't even get that kind of monies unless you were working!

Reply

Jamie said:

@ggsoulsister, 320 yes doesn't exactly equal $3.40 But if you say a hundred yen is about the same as a dollar, then yea, it's close. But the currency conversion changes & fluctuates, so this is more of an approximation.

@mooneyes1983, Hi, the actual current conversion rate is about 88.5 yen to 1 US dollar... At least thats what uncle sam says...just an FYI... yahoo has a free conversion site I think.
