大丈夫 (daijyoubu) means “OK” or “fine.”
Examples:
If you want to ask “Are you OK?” you could say 大丈夫ですか? (daijyoubu desu ka?)
If you wanted to respond with “Yes, I’m OK” you could say はい、大丈夫です。 (hai, daijyoubu desu.)
Can you only use 大丈夫 in the sense of someone's well being, or can you use it in the general sense of like "It's OK" or "that's fine"?
@Alycia, great question! Yes, you can use 大丈夫 in the general sense as well.
